Jodi Bio

JODI WILLIAMS ~ BSCPT
REGISTERED PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Jodi was born and raised in Saskatchewan and has worked as a physiotherapist for the last 17 years, both as a staff physiotherapist and a clinic owner. Her experience is primarily in private practice orthopaedics for all ages across the lifespan.

Jodi credits being mentored by an exceptional physiotherapist early on in her career with helping shape her work philosophy and influencing her empathetic approach to practice. As a result of this positive start, she has made a point throughout her career to pay it forward and has a long history of being of service to her profession and the communities in which she has practiced. From providing many hours of sideline coverage for local sports teams, to supervising physiotherapy residents and mentoring new graduates, to her time serving as Medical Co-Director for the Western Canada Summer Games—a role in which she received a Special Recognition Award from the Saskatchewan Physiotherapy Association—Jodi is always looking for ways to get involved and give back.

Her life away from physiotherapy includes spending time with her spouse and their two children. They can often be found enjoying the outdoors together - swimming, hiking, and biking. Jodi plays the piano, a little guitar (very poorly), loves books, and is a closet writer with a collection of stories that will likely never see the light of day.

Jodi is thrilled to have recently relocated with her family to the Comox Valley and is looking forward to sharing her skills with her new community.

Education:

Jodi graduated with a B.Sc. in Physiology from the University of Saskatchewan, then lived and worked in a remote fly-in community north of Yellowknife, NT for two years before returning to university and completing her B.Sc. in Physical Therapy with Distinction. Jodi values lifelong learning and has undergone extensive post-graduate training over the years. She is a certified acupuncture provider through Acupuncture Canada, has received her Intermediate Certificate in Manual and Manipulative Therapy through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, is a Matheson-trained ergonomic consultant, is a concussion provider trained through Complete Concussion Management Inc., and is a pelvic health physiotherapist with training through Pelvic Health Solutions.
